Alter at Romero's church
What a great way to start the day.  We had a great breakfast of eggs, plantains, and beans.  Then we started our cultural study and learning at the University of Central America.  There we saw how the Jesuit priests were remembered and celebrated by many of the youth and people of San Salvador.  Then we drove to the Catholic Compound and learned about Oscar Romero.  We walked in the footsteps of some great people and citizens of El Salvador.

But to me, perhaps, the greatest part of the day occurred in our drive through the countryside to a beautiful lake in the middle of some mountains.  There Marco talked to a little boy about the lake.  Then we made our way home and back to the top of another mountain.  We ate pupusas at a Pupuseria where the night life was exciting and loud.  Then we made our way to the open air market and I was able to meet the man that painted a plate that is at home.  I had him sign another and took a picture of him to show the boys.

We returned to UCA there the celebration continued for the Jesuit priests.

It was an exciting and jam packed day.  I look forward to continuing our journey.
